Cowboys are America's team, Lucero is America's band

Just watched the kickoff game of the year between the Cowboys and Giants tonight.  I started thinking about what band I would've picked to kick off the season instead of No Doubt and Mariah Carey. And yes NBC picked those two very tired performers to represent the sport. Not sure why either were picked honestly.  Are they even popular enough right now?

Anyhow, I thought of Lucero as the band deserving to kickoff the season.  The Gaslight Anthem following close behind.  Odd enough, they used a song by The Gaslight Anthem to go to a commercial break during the game.

Lucero are a working class band that have never sold out their dignity to sell albums.  They still tour on a small scale and have great interaction with their fans. Their music is grassroots rock at the heart, and unlike every other band that seems to want to flow with the trends, they stick to a style that's working for them.

Here's a track from their newest album.  Cheers Lucero for being America's true representative in the rock scene.
