Sin Cos Tan making 80's future synth, is that a genre?

I wonder while writing this post, if people looking up trigonometry videos will mistakenly find it on a Google search.  Sin Cos Tan is a band as well as a math term.  These guys must've known they'd get some overflow on search engines from math geeks. Nice. Their music is synth heavy with a very dark lyrical mood.  They remind me a bit of old school Brain Ferry from the 1980's.

"Trust" not only reminds me Ferry from the 80's but the video does a good job of finishing that thought. This song is a great introduction to the band.

There's something cinematic about their music and no better track to show that than "Sooner Than Now."  The music is desolate and haunting.

"Binary" has a Bladerunner sound. I could see this song dug up in a soundtrack to an 80's scifi flick or maybe the next film by Nicolas Winding Refn (director of Drive).
