Fight traffic with some Free Energy's Love Sign LP

So, there I was stuck on the 405 about to hit the panic switch and stab the next driver over for being the 60th customer of the day to cut me off.  I stopped counting after 60 so maybe it was even higher. And yes, I would never stab anyone in traffic. OK, maybe sucker punch. I'm human. Anyhow, then I decided to finally give the entire new Free Energy LP Love Sign a listen.  I forgot how long I was driving after that.

I had scanned through Love Sign since picking it up and I know how much I liked their first effort Stuck On Nothing.  Could they follow up that "energy" with another fun LP?  Some what, to the "energy" and most definitely to the "fun."  Love Sign is the kind of album that flows together so well you have no clue when one song ends and another begins.  That makes the album both good and somewhat underwhelming.  No track really stands out but the entire thing is pure fun.  Some albums just need to be fun. I compare this album to eating savory potato chips.  You know you won't get much nutrition from it but damn was it tasty.

"Electric Fever" was the first official track from Love Sign.  It really does represent the entire album well.  It's the kind of song that needs to be played at halftime during the superbowl.  This is about as American as a rock song can get.  A nice steady flow of cowbells. At times, they seriously remind me of Thin Lizzy. Just grab a beer and enjoy this song. Cheers.

"Girls Want Rock" takes me back to that classic Cars sound.  That opening riff especially will give you that feeling.  It's like the summer of 85' never ended.   And if girls want rock, well then they'll want this song.  The official first full blown FUN LP of 2013.
